Social media began with a simple promise: people should be able to share, connect, and exchange ideas freely. Over time, that promise was replaced by hidden ranking systems, selective enforcement, data extraction, and incentives that often serve platforms before people.
We built UpScrolled to give public conversation back to the people who create it. It is designed for clarity, fairness, and freedom, giving every community a fair chance to grow on its own terms.

We do not push agendas — political, commercial, or otherwise. Our rules are clear and applied evenly. Our ranking is explainable, our decisions accountable, and influence comes with responsibility.
UpScrolled was born from the mass censorship and shadow banning of Palestinian voices during a livestreamed genocide. Posts were removed without explanation. Accounts were restricted or suspended. Hashtags were suppressed.
What began as one community's experience revealed something much larger: the infrastructure of public conversation had become concentrated in the hands of a few, with invisible decisions shaping whose stories could be seen.
Our founder Issam Hijazi — a Palestinian-Jordanian-Australian technologist with decades of experience at companies like IBM, Oracle, and Hitachi — chose to build a different kind of platform in response. Not just for Palestinian voices, but for every community that has ever found itself on the wrong side of an invisible line.
